Part Two
After the jungle, a private speedboat takes you 1.5 hours across the Sulu Sea to a small island paradise. Here, time slows. Spend your days swimming through coral gardens, or watching baby turtles make their way to the sea. This remote eco-resort is known for its gentle pace, pristine waters, and vibrant marine life. We welcome you to spend three or four nights here.

Part Three
Tucked deep within Sabah’s largest floodplain, this remote river lodge offers front-row access to one of Borneo’s richest ecosystems. Raised wooden villas are set among mangroves and tall jungle trees, where the calls of hornbills and the rustle of proboscis monkeys welcome you at dawn. We recommend spending two to three nights here.

DAY 1 | ARRIVAL AND FOREST WELCOME
Arrive in Sandakan. Transfer to Sepilok Nature Lodge. Settle into your chalet by the lake. Enjoy a leisurely stroll around the grounds and a calm evening dinner surrounded by rainforest.
DAY 2 | WILDLIFE ENCOUNTERS
Explore the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and visit the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. Afternoon at leisure or join a guided forest walk. Optional night safari to encounter the jungle after dark.
DAY 3 | JOURNEY TO THE ISLAND
After breakfast, transfer to the jetty and board a speedboat to Lankayan Island Resort. Check in to your beachfront chalet. Enjoy your first snorkel or dive after lunch.
DAY 4 | REEF EXPLORATIONS
Spend the day diving or snorkeling with reef sharks, sea turtles, and vibrant coral gardens. Relax with a sunset drink on the deck.
DAY 5 | ISLAND LIFE & CONSERVATION
Enjoy a slow morning snorkeling or strolling the beach, then learn about the island’s turtle conservation efforts and witness hatchlings being released into the sea or visit an active nesting site.
DAY 6 | LAST DIVE, LAST LIGHT
Your final full day to enjoy the sea. Join a dive, swim off the house reef, or rest in your hammock. Keep watch for nesting turtles after dinner
DAY 7 | FROM ISLAND TO RIVER
Depart Lankayan in the morning and travel back to the mainland. From there, drive about 1.5 hours and take a 40-minute boat ride to reach Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort. Settle into your riverside villa and enjoy a sunset river cruise.
DAY 8 | RIVER SAFARI & JUNGLE WALKS
Rise early for a dawn cruise to spot wildlife like proboscis monkeys and hornbills. In the afternoon, explore the boardwalk trails and relax with a night river safari.
DAY 9 | FINAL EXPLORATIONS
Enjoy a peaceful morning river cruise or guided forest walk. Reflect on the journey so far as your time in the jungle winds down.
DAY 10 | DEPARTURE
After breakfast, transfer back to Sandakan by boat and road. Depart with unforgettable memories of Borneo’s forests, reefs, and rivers.
